The Government of Jamaica has received a loan from the World Bank towards the cost of the SECOND rural economic development intitiative (REDI II) project.  The Government of Jamaica intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to cover payments under the contract for R&DD Ginger Clean Seed Project.

Bid # 21677:                                       R&DD Ginger Clean Seed Project (#73865)

Scope:                                                 Procurement of a Contractor to carry out the following works and supply of goods:

• The construction of two 3,200 sq. ft. structural steel greenhouses.
• Supply, install and retrofit a 40ft. container to include an office, storage (pesticides and fertilizers) and restroom area along with requisite tertiary treatment system.
• Equip greenhouses with rainwater harvesting capabilities and the 40ft. retrofitted container with a photovoltaic system.
• Supply and install six (6) 1500 gallon water tanks, benches, two (2) solar powered water pumps, two (2) automated fertigation systems and drip irrigation tubes with barb, spaghetti tubing and other associated fittings for the greenhouses.
• Rehabilitation of a 3,200 sq. ft. hardening house to include re-cladding of the virus netting and fixing of the roof for the temperature-controlled inner glass house.
• Installation of 250ft. of cupboards with solid surface counter tops in the PEQ tissue culture laboratory.

Works Period: Five (5) months
