Community Investment Project (CIP)

The Government of Jamaica  secured a loan from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), in the amount of US$15M to assist in the implementation of the Community Investment Project (CIP).This project aimed to improve infrastructure in education, health and transportation in poor rural communities throughout Jamaica.
 
One component of the Community Investment Project was the Bridge Jamaica Programme, which consisted of a series of social interventions that targeted families living below the poverty line; assisting them to empower themselves in order to gain greater access to social amenities.
